Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Commercial Building Patrol in Austin, TX. You will serve and safeguard clients across tech/media campuses, perform unarmed patrols, monitor access, and provide exceptional customer service while documenting activities with available technology.

The role is full-time with a pay rate of $22.28 per hour. Minimum requirements include 3+ years of related experience or 5+ years in armed security, high school diploma, background check, and drug screening

Qualifications

• 3+ years of combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or 5+ years of armed security experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements per state/local laws; driver’s license for driving positions only.

• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following escalation and reporting protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, offices, common areas, parking facilities, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials, and assist with access-control procedures as required.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate incidents, hazards, and maintenance concerns to leadership.

• Tue 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
• Wed 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
• Thur 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
• Fri 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology and media campus by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, offices, common areas, parking facilities, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and assist with access-control procedures in accordance with site requirements.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate observed incidents, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel and/or Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or 5+ years of armed security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
