Job summary

Allied Universal in Plant City, FL is seeking a Security Officer - Authorization Desk to safeguard client sites at a retail distribution location. You will monitor access, verify credentials, and respond to incidents with a calm, solution-oriented approach.

You will work with a dedicated team, maintain visitor logs, and support operations while adhering to site policies. A high school diploma and at least 1 year of security experience are required; a Guard Card is preferred.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Guard Card/license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out access-control procedures and site policies.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, maintain visitor logs, and direct authorized personnel and vehicles.
• Control access for employees, contractors, vendors, and delivery drivers while reporting unauthorized access and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents calmly and follow escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter.

As an Access Control Officer at a retail distribution location, you will help maintain a welcoming, controlled environment by monitoring entry points, verifying access, conducting routine patrols, and reporting security-related concerns. What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or delivery personnel by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail distribution location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or visitor authorization, maintain visitor logs, and direct authorized personnel and vehicles in accordance with site procedures.
• Control access for employees, contractors, vendors, and delivery drivers while reporting unauthorized access attempts, suspicious activity, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Minimum Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• A Guard Card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
