Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Armed Security Officer for an educational campus in North Charleston, SC. You will monitor access points, patrol buildings and grounds, deter unauthorized activity, and maintain a visible, reassuring presence to students, staff, and visitors while delivering professional customer service.

You will respond to alarms and incidents following established procedures, document daily activities, and collaborate with our team to keep the site safe.

Qualifications

• Armed guard license is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background screening as per law.
• CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff and visitors while enforcing campus policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms and critical situations calmly and follow reporting protocols.
• Conduct armed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways and perimeter.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and report suspicious activity.
• Maintain daily activity reports and patrol logs as required.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, campus-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain required documentation, including daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol logs, in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Possess a DD214 with an honorable discharge, an associate degree, 60 college credits, a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
