Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Armed Part Time Patrol in San Jose, CA. You will safeguard clients across Retail/Malls and related settings, conducting armed patrols and maintaining a visible security presence.

As a part-time position, you can build a flexible schedule and advance through our Shift-claim platform. A background check and drug screen may be required by law, with a high school diploma or equivalent and armed guard license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to guests, team members, and visitors by following security procedures.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of entertainment areas, entrances, and parking areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents calmly and report incidents as needed.
• Monitor access points and observe guest activity, reporting suspicious behavior.
• Carry authorized equipment in compliance with laws and client procedures and complete incident reports.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to guests, team members, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of entertainment areas, entrances, parking areas, perimeter locations, and other assigned areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, requesting additional support when needed.
• Monitor access points and observe guest activity, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Carry authorized equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, Allied Universal policies, and client procedures, and complete accurate activity and incident reports.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• At least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
• An armed guard card or license is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
