Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Guard Part Time Driver Patrol Customer Assistance in San Jose, CA. You will provide security and customer service to shoppers, tenants, and staff while conducting routine patrols and supporting access control at a retail and mall location.

The role offers a Part Time schedule with a pay rate of $22.25 per hour and opportunities to learn our Claim a Shift platform to explore additional shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a valid driver’s license per Allied Universal policy.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Guard card/license is preferred; must be 18+ for unarmed roles and 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, visitors, and employees by performing security procedures and following site policies.
• Respond to incidents and concerns calmly, escalating per site procedures.
• Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols to deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, maintenance concerns, and hazards to site contacts.
• Assist with access control, visitor directions, lost-and-found inquiries, and other security support in a professional manner.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic retail and mall location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide welcoming customer service to visitors, tenants, and staff. This driving position requires travel in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout retail common areas, parking facilities, tenant corridors, exterior areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, policy violations, maintenance concerns, and potential hazards to appropriate site contacts.
• Assist with access control, visitor directions, lost-and-found inquiries, and other security-related support needs in a professional manner.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
