Job summary

Allied Universal in Wilmington, CA is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer focused on Access Control. You will monitor entry points, verify credentials, maintain visitor logs, and support security operations at a busy logistics and distribution site.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Tue 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points for employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery drivers; verify credentials, maintain visitor logs, and follow site protocols for entry and exit.
• Help control access to logistics and distribution areas, including shipping, receiving, warehouse, and perimeter locations, while reporting unauthorized access concerns.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and communicate observations to site leadership and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, grounds, access points, and perimeter; report unusual conditions and security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• At this site, there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
