Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer Access Authorization Specialist in San Pedro, CA to safeguard clients and support security operations at a busy logistics and distribution site.

You will manage entry points, verify credentials, issue access badges, monitor activity, and communicate with employees and visitors, contributing to a safe, professional environment and a reliable security team.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories.
• A drug screen is required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.

• Conduct regular patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.

Sat 05:00 AM - 01:00 PM; Sun 05:00 AM - 01:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to the logistics and distribution location by verifying credentials, managing visitor and driver entry, issuing access badges and/or passes, and maintaining accurate entry records.
• Observe incoming and outgoing traffic at designated access points, report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and documenting actions taken.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
