Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer in Houston, TX to safeguard clients and assets at a chemical/petrochemical location. You will support access control, patrol assigned areas, and deliver professional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

This role offers a flexible weekend schedule (Sat/Sun nights) with a pay rate of $16.00 per hour, a focus on safety, training opportunities, and the chance to grow

Qualifications

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Computer or tablet experience is preferred.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check required by federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by following site policies and security procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents and alarms per site protocols.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of buildings and perimeter.
• Monitor restricted areas and verify credentials as directed.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a chemical/petrochemical location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control activities, and respond to alarm-related concerns. You will provide outstanding customer service and clear communication while supporting a professional environment. Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $16.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Sat 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM; Sun 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and petrochemical location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, hazardous-material concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, operational areas, access points, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as directed, and report unusual conditions, equipment concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Complete required activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
