Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Access Authorization in Watsonville, CA to safeguard clients across healthcare and other sectors. You will monitor entry points, verify access, and deliver professional customer service while following site procedures.

The role is full time, with varied day and night shifts and a pay rate of $20.00 per hour. As a crucial part of a patient- and staff-facing team, you will conduct access control, respond to incidents, and document activities for site

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of security-related experience.
• Guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation and drug screen required by law; licensing may be required by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Monitor and control access points, verify credentials, maintain visitor access records, and direct authorized individuals to appropriate areas.
• Respond to access-control concerns, incidents, and critical situations calmly and escalate per site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, restricted areas, parking areas, and facility perimeter to deter unauthorized access.
• Document observations and incidents accurately and communicate information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
• Monitor and control access points, verify credentials as required, maintain visitor access records, and direct authorized individuals to appropriate areas.
• Respond to access-control concerns, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, restricted areas, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access.
• Document observations, incidents, and access-related activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
