You will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor activity, and support patients, visitors, and staff with professional assistance.

As an Access Control Officer in a healthcare setting, you’ll deter incidents through visible presence, strong communication, and adherence to site policies.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.
• Criminal history considered in accordance with laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by following security procedures and site-specific access-control policies.
• Monitor and control access to hospital entrances, restricted areas, and visitor checkpoints per site procedures.
• Verify credentials, issue visitor passes, maintain access logs, and direct individuals to appropriate departments.
• Respond to incidents, access-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned hospital areas and perimeter to deter unauthorized access and identify security concerns.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed 10:00 PM - 06:30 AM
• Thur 10:00 PM - 06:30 AM
• Fri 10:00 PM - 06:30 AM
• Sat 10:00 PM - 06:30 AM
• Sun 10:00 PM - 06:30 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific access-control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to designated hospital entrances, restricted areas, and visitor checkpoints in accordance with site procedures.
• Verify credentials, issue visitor passes, maintain access logs, and direct individuals to appropriate hospital departments or locations.
• Respond to incidents, access-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned hospital areas and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
