Join Puyallup Tribal Health Authority (PTHA) as a Security Officer in Tacoma, WA. This on-site role focuses on maintaining a safe, welcoming environment across campus and clinic sites, with varied shifts including days, nights, and weekends.

You will work to de-escalate conflicts, monitor access systems, and collaborate with local law enforcement when needed. The role emphasizes community care, Indigenous values, and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED
• At least 18 months of experience in Security Officer role with a focus on customer contact via patrols
• Familiarity with card readers, surveillance systems, and basic security tech
• WA State driver's license and ability to provide driving abstract

Responsibilities

• Regularly patrol campus and other clinic sites to maintain a safe and welcoming environment
• Respond calmly and effectively to suspicious behavior, potential threats, or emergencies
• Use de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts and maintain peace
• Provide exceptional customer service, assist with directions, jumpstarts, escorts, and more
• Monitor surveillance cameras, secure areas, and ensure safety protocols are followed
• Partner with local law enforcement when needed
• Maintain daily logs, incident reports, and manage access systems

Hiring Range: $21.52 - $23.67 per hour

Anticipated Schedule: Full-Time | Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends as needed.
