Make Every Stay Feel Safe, Seamless, and Special
When Scottsdale’s desert sunsets give way to star-filled skies, The Scott Resort & Spa stays alive with the warmth, style, and genuine hospitality that make our resort unforgettable. We’re looking for a calm, attentive, and service-minded professional to help protect our guests, associates, and beautiful property throughout the overnight hours.
This is more than a security role. It’s an opportunity to be a trusted presence in one of Scottsdale’s most distinctive hospitality settings—just moments from the energy of Old Town, exceptional dining, vibrant nightlife, and the Sonoran Desert’s unforgettable scenery. You’ll be the person guests and teammates count on when they need help, reassurance, direction, or a swift response.
What Makes This Role Different
At The Scott Resort & Spa, security is delivered with a welcoming spirit. You’ll balance awareness and sound judgment with the polished, heartfelt service expected at a four-diamond resort. Whether you’re assisting a guest with a door lock, escorting an associate to the parking area, responding to an emergency, or simply providing directions, you’ll help create the peace of mind that allows every guest to relax and enjoy Scottsdale.
This is an overnight position and may require weekend availability.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Conduct active foot patrols throughout the interior, exterior, and perimeter of the resort, including walking and climbing stairs during the majority of each shift.
- Observe, identify, and promptly address potential safety risks, security concerns, and undesirable conditions.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment for guests, associates, patrons, and property.
- Respond quickly, professionally, and thoughtfully to emergencies, fire and life-safety hazards, disturbances, and threats to people or property.
- Address violations of resort policy and applicable civil laws using sound judgment, diplomacy, and appropriate restraint.
- Answer security telephone and safety hotline calls, prioritize requests, and respond in a timely manner.
- Monitor CCTV systems as needed, report unusual activity or alarms to the supervisor on duty, and document incidents accurately.
- Become highly familiar with the resort’s layout and life-safety systems, including alarm pull stations, fire extinguishers, sprinklers, and emergency procedures.
- Complete initial reports for guest and associate injuries and prepare clear, thorough documentation of incidents and activities.
- Screen individuals entering designated entrances to confirm their purpose and authorization.
- Conduct associate package checks as needed to ensure resort food and property are not removed without authorization.
- Receive, record, secure, and assist with lost-and-found items, including responding to guest inquiries and arranging shipment of claimed belongings.
- Provide helpful information about resort amenities, operating hours, directions, and the Scottsdale area.
- Escort guests and associates throughout the resort and parking areas when requested.
- Assist guests with door lock concerns using handheld electronic equipment.
- Communicate clearly using resort-issued tools, including radio, MOD phone, computer, email, and incident-reporting software.
- Support additional assignments as directed by the Corporate Director of Security, Security Manager, Supervisor, General Manager, and other Executive Leaders.
The Person We’re Looking For
You’re observant without being intrusive, confident without being confrontational, and always ready to lend a hand. You can make smart independent decisions under pressure while maintaining the tact, discretion, and professionalism that define exceptional hospitality.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous security, law enforcement, or military experience is preferred, especially experience grounded in customer or guest service.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record required.
- National EMT certification is preferred.
- Ability to remain composed, consistent, diplomatic, and tactful during challenging situations.
- Ability to respect confidentiality and follow company policies, procedures, and written or verbal instructions.
- Ability to visually recognize signs of an emergency and act appropriately.
- Ability to walk extensively, climb stairs at a rapid pace, and perform active patrol duties throughout the shift.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills, including the ability to create accurate documentation using Perspective Software.
- Professional grooming and appearance appropriate for a four-diamond resort.
