Job summary

BayCare Health System seeks a Security Officer to protect patients, staff and visitors at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater. The role requires vigilance, effective communication, and adherence to safety protocols during a night shift from 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Security-related certifications and licenses as per requirements.
• Experience in security or customer service is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Patrol and detect risks to ensure safety of staff, patients and visitors.
• Assist customers and respond to incidents as needed.
• Complete communication and documentation tools.
• Conduct weapons screening as required and perform other duties as assigned.

Position: Security Officer

Facility: Morton Plant Hospital

The Security Officer performs general safety & security duties including:

• Patrol and detection services

• Assisting customers

• Response and intervention responsibilities

• Provide monitoring services to assure team member, patient and visitor safety

• Completes communication and documentation tools

• Conducts weapons screening in appropriate manner

• Completes other duties as assigned

• Required specific skills also includes life safety and weapons screening techniques.

Minimum Qualifications:

Certifications and Licensures

• Driver's License (State of Florida)

• IAHSS (Security) - Within 1 year

• Security D - Within 90 days

• Preferred: FDLE (Law Enforcement)

Education

• High School or Equivalent

• Preferred: Associate's in Related Field

Experience

• 1 year Customer Service

• Preferred: 2 years Security
