Per Mar Security Services is seeking a hardworking, motivated Loss Prevention Officer in Mason City, IA. The role involves patrolling the store floor, identifying and apprehending shoplifters, and writing clear incident reports.

You will interact with local law enforcement as needed and may be called to provide courtroom testimony. A high school diploma or equivalent and a background check are required, with English proficiency and reliable transportation essential.

Job Description

• Identify and Apprehend Shoplifters through floor patrol and the use of Closed Circuit TV Cameras
• Report Writing
• Interacting with local Law Enforcement as needed
• Provide Courtroom Testimony as required

Job Requirement

• Pre-Employment Criminal Background Check and Drug Screening
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to 3-4 hours at a time
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
• Ability to communicate clearly and accurately through verbal and written means
• Ability to write legible, accurate and easily understood reports
• Must be assertive, yet controlled in dealing with confrontation
• Must be trustworthy and able to work under little or no direct supervision
• Attendance for scheduled shifts. Tardiness and absenteeism is not tolerated
• Previous Loss Prevention or Law Enforcement experience is a plus but not a requirement
• Criminal Justice or related studies a plus
• High School diploma or equivalent (minimum)
