Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring a Commercial Installer to work on-site with our commercial customers, setting up and programming integrated security fire systems, and, when needed, dismantling and reconstructing equipment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, basic technical training, and 1–3 years of electrical/electronic equipment experience. Strong blueprint-reading and customer service skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Some technical school training is a plus.
• 1–3 years electrical and electronic equipment experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate fleet vehicle in a safe manner.
• Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Install and dismantle equipment per customer needs.
• Follow safety procedures to prevent injuries.
• Verify installation schedule with customers.
• Prepare estimates per supervisor instructions.
• Follow wiring diagrams and hookup procedures.
• Test system operation and report to the center.
• Read building and sprinkler blueprints as required.
• Coordinate with police/fire departments and document notifications.
• May lead installation teams on larger projects.
• Coach and mentor less experienced installers.
