Allied Universal is seeking a dedicated Security Guard Unarmed Patrol Inspector in San Jose, CA. You will safeguard clients, deter incidents, and provide excellent customer service at a retail site.

You will patrol areas, monitor for security concerns, and communicate with store leadership to maintain a welcoming environment. The role emphasizes professionalism, reliable presence, and adherence to procedures, with a focus on safety and incident response.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• Applicants will be subject to a background check and drug screen as applicable by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and store team members while carrying out site-specific security procedures.
• Respond to incidents and disturbances in a calm, professional manner following reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular foot patrols of the retail location, including sales areas and entrances, to deter theft and unauthorized activity.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, policy violations, and hazards, and communicate observations to store management.
• Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation per site procedures.

Pay Rate: $26.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue - 03:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Wed - 03:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Thur - 03:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Fri - 03:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sat - 03:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and store team members while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, exits, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help deter theft and unauthorized activity.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, shoplifting concerns, policy violations, and potential hazards, and communicate observations to store management and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in accordance with site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
