Job Description

As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Systems Operator in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a retail mall location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control, and respond to alarm-related activity. You will provide outstanding customer service and clear communication to visitors, tenants, and team members while supporting a welcoming environment. Pay Rate: $22.25 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including common areas, parking areas, exterior perimeters, and tenant corridors, as assigned.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document observations and actions taken.
• Monitor access points and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to help maintain an orderly shopping environment and help to deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
