Job summary

Allied Universal in San Jose, CA is seeking a full-time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol) to protect a public transportation environment. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain presence to deter incidents, and deliver professional customer service to riders, employees, and visitors.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Guard Card/License preferred.

• Drug screen may be required.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors and personnel at transit facilities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, perimeters and other locations.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious behavior or maintenance concerns to supervisors.
• Respond calmly to incidents and emergencies following established protocols.
• Prepare accurate activity, incident and patrol reports and share with supervisors and public agency representatives.

Pay Rate: $22.83 / Hour

• Tue 04:00 AM - 12:00 PM
• Wed 04:00 AM - 12:00 PM
• Thur 04:00 AM - 12:00 PM
• Fri 04:00 AM - 12:00 PM
• Sat 04:00 AM - 12:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel at public transportation facilities while following site-specific policies and security-related procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, perimeters, and other assigned locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe activities throughout assigned areas, reporting suspicious behavior, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response protocols.
• Prepare accurate activity, incident, and patrol reports, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and public agency representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
