Job summary

Allied Universal in Richmond, VA is seeking a Security Guard for Full Time Patrol Operations. You will protect client sites, monitor access, and provide courteous service to visitors, employees, and contractors at a government transportation location.

As an unarmed patrol officer, you will perform routine patrols, document incidents, respond to alarms, and work a schedule from Mon to Fri 3:00 PM–11:00 PM. A high school diploma, 18+ years, and background check are required.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply locally.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and/or members of the public while carrying out site‑specific procedures and emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned facilities, parking areas, grounds, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and report suspicious conditions.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for personnel, visitors, and contractors in accordance with site‑specific policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, traffic‑related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
