This role covers admissions screening, patrols, and basic security duties across multiple shifts to safeguard public buildings. Under general supervision, you will document incidents, respond to alarms, coordinate with law enforcement when needed, and maintain logs and property records to support safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school.
• A valid motor vehicle operator's license may be required for employment in some positions.

Responsibilities

• Assists in Admissions with processing patients (i.e., wanding with a metal detector, pat downs, etc.). Responsible for reviewing and documenting the patient's belongings.
• Responds to calls and take appropriate action to assist in emergencies. May be required to respond to Code Situations.
• Controls entrance and exit of individuals by checking for identity, purpose of visit, and authorization. Escorts individuals to ensure their safety.
• Prepares and maintains records such as incident reports, vehicle citations, logs of visitors and others, and personal property reports. Provides information to supervisor by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in-person to advise of any security concerns.
• Communicates with law enforcement agencies to report incidents, provide information, and request assistance. Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings: Patrols facilities, monitors alarms and utilizes audiovisual and security systems (e.g., TV monitors) to check for security hazards, disturbances, and violations of pertinent laws, rules, or regulations.
• Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment: Operates patrol and transport vehicles to complete security patrols or transport valuables and individuals. Controlling Machines and Processes: Operates two-way radios and other communications devices to accomplish security tasks.

We are seeking a Security Guard, Unarmed .Under general supervision, the employee is responsible for institutional and related security work of average difficulty and performs related work as required. An employee in this class may be assigned to work any shift to provide a full range of institutional and other security activities, such as protecting public buildings.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education and Experience: Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school; qualifying full‑time law enforcement, security, or related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year‑for‑year basis.
• Other Requirements: A valid motor vehicle operator's license may be required for employment in some positions.

Shift Timings:

• Night Shift 6:00 pm-7:30 am/3 Days week.
• The first 2‑3 weeks will be 8‑hour shifts M‑F with exception of week 1 which is Fri only with Human Resources. Employee will then transition to 6p-730a shifts.
