Lakeside Behavioral Health System in Memphis, TN, is seeking a Security and Transportation Technician to help keep patients, staff and visitors safe while providing reliable transport for patients. This role supports a compassionate, team‑based environment in a premier behavioral health facility.

You will perform security duties across hospital grounds, operate wheelchair lifts, and maintain basic vehicle and safety procedures, with training and growth opportunities within UHS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field preferred or high school diploma.
• One year experience with psychiatric patients or security preferred.
• Valid Driver License required.
• Able to read/write and follow safety procedures; good judgment.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The Security and Transportation Technician ensures the safety and security of the hospital buildings and grounds, its patients, employees and guests. The Security and Transportation Technician also provides safe, efficient transportation services to patients of Lakeside Behavioral Health System.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelors Degree in Psychology or related field highly preferred; or high school diploma.

Experience: One-year experience working with a psychiatric patient population and or security preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Valid Driver License

Knowledge: Basic reading and writing ability; knowledge of typical safety and security procedures; sound judgment and decision-making skills; skills in crisis management or in implementing emergency response procedures; trustworthiness; basic customer service skills, and telephone etiquette. Familiarity with basic automotive maintenance; basic auto repair skills, such as ability to change flat tire, ability to check fluid levels and add fluids, ability to check tire inflation, etc.; ability to operate wheelchair lift.
