Job Description

The Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant creates a safe environment for patients, saves lives when necessary, provides hope, empowers patients, and teaches new tools for coping to patients. The Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, individual/family education groups and activities of daily living.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

Education:High school diploma/equivalent and formal nursing or medical assistant training program required. (2) years work experience with the psychiatric patient population highly preferred.

Licensure/Certification:State Nurse Aide certification required.

Knowledge: Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, and CPR training preferred.
