Job summary

Lakeside Behavioral Health System in Memphis is seeking a Security and Transportation Technician to help ensure the safety of staff, patients and visitors and provide safe, timely transportation around the campus. The role requires a clean driving record, basic security knowledge, and the ability to manage crises.

A Bachelor’s degree in psychology is preferred, with a high school diploma acceptable and one year of related experience.

• One-year experience working with a psychiatric patient population and/or security preferred.

Job Description

The Security and Transportation Technician ensures the safety and security of the hospital buildings and grounds, its patients, employees and guests. The Security and Transportation Technician also provides safe, efficient transportation services to patients of Lakeside Behavioral Health System.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelors Degree in Psychology or related field highly preferred; or high school diploma.

Experience: One-year experience working with a psychiatric patient population and or security preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Valid Driver License

Knowledge: Basic reading and writing ability; knowledge of typical safety and security procedures; sound judgment and decision-making skills; skills in crisis management or in implementing emergency response procedures; trustworthiness; basic customer service skills, and telephone etiquette. Familiarity with basic automotive maintenance; basic auto repair skills, such as ability to change flat tire, ability to check fluid levels and add fluids, ability to check tire inflation, etc.; ability to operate wheelchair lift.
