Job summary

The Kinetic Group is seeking a Security Guard at our Lewiston, Idaho location to protect employees, facilities and plant assets. The role requires flexibility to work all shifts, including a 9pm–5am swing shift from Monday to Friday, and to perform patrols, fire watch, and access checks.

You will log activities, follow security procedures, and assist in handling workplace incidents with leadership or law enforcement as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Good communication skills, both written and oral.
• Must possess basic mathematics skills.
• Must be able to work under stressful conditions.
• Must be trained in threat response within 90 days of employment.
• Must be certified in First Aid/CPR within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic plant security to protect employees, facilities and assets.
• Work any shift, including swing shift 9pm–5am Monday–Friday.
• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols and perform fire watch during rounds.
• Monitor for theft, vandalism and unauthorized entry; log activities in daily logbook.
• Follow Standard Works for Security Guard and report issues.
• Inspect doors/windows/gates; investigate vehicle/traffic accidents.
• Check employee badges and conduct random searches.
• Warn violators and document infractions.
• Escort personnel with plant leadership or law enforcement as needed.
• Extinguish small fires with fire extinguisher.
• Assist in handling workplace violence situations.

Pay Range:

$17.84 - $24.95

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.

Job Description

Our Lewiston location is looking for a Security Guard to provide basic plant security to protect employees, facilities, and plant assets.

• Must be able to work any shift, including Swing shift: 9pm-5am Monday-Friday

• Make foot and/or vehicle-assisted rounds. Perform fire watch during rounds.

• Watch for theft. Look for vandals and vandalism.

• Check for illegal entry. Logs all activity in daily logbook, such as items that are not routine.

• Follow Standard Works for Security Guard.

• Report leaking pipes. Report mechanical faults of machinery and equipment.

• Check doors and windows that are supposed to be closed and locked. Check gates to ensure they are closed and/or locked if appropriate.

• Investigate vehicle/traffic accidents.

• Check badges of employees accessing plant. Conduct random searches of vehicles and employees entering and exiting the plant.

• Warns violators and documents any infractions such as loitering, trespassing, smoking in restricted areas, and carrying forbidden articles.

• Make periodic patrol of parking lots, either on foot or by driving vehicle. Issue parking violations and watch for suspicious activity.

• Assist in handling workplace violence scenarios. Escort employees and others off plant with plant leadership or law enforcement.

• Use fire extinguisher to put out small, incipient-type fires.

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school or GED equivalent.

• Good communication skills, both written and oral.

• Must possess basic mathematics skills.

• Must be able to work under stressful conditions.

• Must be trained in threat response within 90 days of employment.

• Must be certified in First Aid/CPR within 6 months of hire.

• Must be able to work alone with minimal supervision.

• Must have valid driver's license without restrictions.

• Must not be considered a prohibited person under the GCA and SEA.

Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.
