Job summary

The Kinetic Group is seeking a Security Officer to protect employees, facilities and assets at its Minnesota sites. You will serve as the first point of contact for entrants, monitor access points, and respond to incidents while adhering to security protocols and safety standards.

Responsibilities include patrolling, performing inspections, coordinating with regulators, and supporting emergency responses. Candidates must meet licensing, certification, and background requirements and be able to

• Two-year technical diploma in law enforcement or similar is preferred.
• Must be able to pass background checks for unsupervised access to explosives.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for entrants including regulatory officials and law enforcement.
• Conduct rounds and inspections under environmental, safety and security programs.
• Monitor cameras, alarm panels and badge readers; respond to incidents and emergencies.
• Assist in handling workplace violence scenarios and enforce access controls.
• Maintain logs and ensure doors, gates, and security equipment function correctly.

Today, The Kinetic Group is a part of the Ammo+ division of The Czechoslovak Group (CSG), which holds a diverse portfolio of companies in the defense, security, automotive, aerospace and rail industries.As the Security Officer you will have the opportunity to provide basic plant security to protect employees, facilities, and plant assets.Shift Information:Position 1 DCE - Security Guard (A Shift, Day Shift)6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (12-hour shift)Scheduled every Tuesday and WednesdayPlus every other Saturday, Sunday, and MondayPosition 2 DCE - Security Guard (C Shift, Day Shift)6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (12-hour shift)Scheduled every Thursday and FridayPlus every other Saturday, Sunday, and MondayPosition 3 - Security Guard (Float, Day Shift)6:00 AM - 4:00 PM (10-hour shift)Scheduled Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and MondayProvides flexible coverage to support operational needs and staffing requirementsSchedule Flexibility: Days, hours, shifts, and schedules may be adjusted as needed to meet business and security coverage requirements.Pay Information: $22.31/hourExperience you bring:High school diploma or GED equivalentGood communication skills, both written and oralMust possess basic mathematics skillsMust have valid driver’s license without restrictionsMust be able to pass background checks for unsupervised access to explosives (Employee Possessor)Must be able to work under stressful conditionsMust be able to work alone with minimal supervisionAbility to work varied work schedules as neededMust be trained in threat response within 90 days of employmentMust be certified in First Aid/CPR within 6 months of hireMust be certified in fire extinguisher use within 90 days of employmentMust certify as 8-hour HAZMAT responder within six months of employmentYou may have:Two-year technical diploma in law enforcement or similarOne year or more of prior security field experienceLaw enforcement or military experienceWhat you'll do:First point of contact for those entering the Federal Cartridge and DCE sites, including regulatory officials and law enforcement.Directs those unfamiliar with the site to their destination, escalating issues by following established protocols.Make foot and/or vehicle-assisted rounds, perform various compliance inspections under environmental, safety and security mandated programs. Monitor camera’s, alarm panels and badge reading equipment.Act as emergency coordinators and first responders to significant spills or environmental incidents.Watch for spills, leaks, fires, theft and vandalism.Follow SOP’s, work instructions and Standard Work for Security Guard.Check for illegal entry.Logs all activity in daily logbook, such as items that are not routine.Check doors and windows that are supposed to be closed and locked.Check gates to ensure they are closed and/or locked if appropriate. Investigate vehicle/traffic accidents on site.Make periodic patrol of parking lots, issue parking violations and watch for suspicious activity.Check badges of employees accessing plant.Conduct random searches of vehicles and employees entering and exiting the plant.Warns violators and documents any infractions such as loitering, trespassing, smoking in restricted areas, and carrying forbidden articles.Assist in handling workplace violence scenarios.Escort employees and others off plant if needed.Use fire extinguisher to put out small, incipient-type fires.Performs non-routine tasks and other duties as assigned.Physical Requirements: Ability to use stairs, work from heights or in cramped areas, manual dexterity for use of handheld radios and flashlights, normal eyesight and hearing.Mental Requirements: Alert and responsive; able to remain calm in stressful/emergency situations.Equipment Used: Handheld radios, flashlights, computer, phone.Working Environment: Work will frequently expose the worker to outdoor elements, normal industrial workplace hazards including dust, noise and chemicals.Work Environment:Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives.
