Job summary

Allied Universal, Bethesda, MD, is seeking a Security Officer - Part Time Enhanced to provide reliable security coverage at a shopping mall. This role offers fixed shifts, hourly pay, and the chance to pick up extra shifts through the scheduling platform to boost earnings.

You’ll perform customer service for tenants and visitors, patrol retail areas, monitor access points, and respond calmly to incidents. A six-month commitment at a designated site is required; pay is $21 per hour with benefits

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Alarm panel experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds preferred.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check per law.
• Drug screen per law.
• Licensing may be required; valid driver’s license for driving roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and staff in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and disturbances calmly, escalating as needed per site procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of retail areas, parking facilities, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activities and maintenance concerns.
• Assist visitors and direct them, document incidents, and maintain a welcoming environment.

As a Security Guard Shopping Mall Patrol Response in Bethesda, MD, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thur: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout retail common areas, parking facilities, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, reporting suspicious conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with directing visitors, providing information, documenting incidents, and supporting a welcoming environment at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
