Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Silver Spring, MD. This role offers fixed anchor shifts with additional on-demand shifts via our scheduling platform, ideal for earning more while gaining experience across sites.

Pay rate is $22.09 per hour with Saturday 2:00 PM – 1:30 AM as the scheduled shift. Requires 2+ years security experience, HS diploma, and ability to pass background checks and screenings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public following site procedures and emergency policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations calmly and notify appropriate personnel or agencies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of government buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity; verify credentials; direct guests and maintain logs/reports per site procedures.
• Document incidents and daily activities accurately and communicate information to leadership and site contacts.

As a Security Officer Part Time Access Control in Silver Spring, MD, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $22.09 / Hour

Job Schedule: Sat 02:00 PM - 01:30 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, government facility policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or public service agencies when required.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of government buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity; verify credentials, direct guests, and maintain required logs and reports in accordance with site procedures.
• Document incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately and promptly, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
