Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer for the Bethesda, MD area. The role focuses on unarmed patrols at a shopping mall, delivering excellent customer service while maintaining a visible security presence and following site procedures.

This driving position includes shift-based hours (e.g., Wed and Thu 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) and access to the Claim a Shift platform to explore additional roles. A valid driver’s license and background checks apply.

Qualifications

• Requires at least 6 months security-related experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Guard Card or license preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Must be 21 years old or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail common areas, parking areas, exterior perimeters, and other locations.
• Respond to incidents calmly, notify appropriate personnel, and document activities per site procedures.
• Monitor access points, observe activity, assist with directing visitors, and report suspicious behavior.
• Complete required reports and maintenance of activity logs; communicate with Allied Universal leadership.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $21.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Wed 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Thur 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.


• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail common areas, parking areas, exterior perimeters, and other assigned locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.


• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities in accordance with site procedures.


• Monitor access points, observe activity throughout the property, and assist with directing visitors, responding to questions, and reporting suspicious or prohibited behavior.


• Complete required reports, maintain accurate activity logs, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.


• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.


• A Guard Card or license is preferred.


• Customer service experience is preferred.


• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.


• Must be 21 years of age or older


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
