Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer–Driver Patrol in Bethesda, MD. You will provide safety and customer service at a busy retail, mall, or commercial site, with a flexible schedule and opportunities to earn additional shifts through our app.

As an unarmed driver patrol, you’ll conduct routine checks, deter incidents, and respond professionally to incidents while ensuring a visible, welcoming presence for visitors and tenants.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months of security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, employees, and vendors by following site-specific security procedures.
• Respond to incidents and disturbances in a calm, professional manner and escalate as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas to deter security incidents.
• Monitor access points and enforce property rules, reporting unusual conditions to site leadership.
• Document patrols and incidents accurately in accordance with procedures.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, employees, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail shopping center.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior common areas, exterior walkways, parking areas, loading zones, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, assisting with the enforcement of property rules and reporting unusual conditions to site leadership.
• Document patrols, incidents, and security-related observations accurately and promptly in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• At least six months of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
