Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, invites you to join as a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed) at a university campus in Norfolk, VA. You will monitor and patrol, deter incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

The role offers a flexible evening schedule (Wed and Thu 7:00 PM – 3:00 AM) with $16.00 per hour pay, plus access to our shift-claiming platform and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required under federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal may consider applicants with criminal histories where allowed by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply per state/local regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while following procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally.
• Monitor access points and campus activity; report observations to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with directions, escorts, and other campus support needs with a professional presence.

• Thur 07:00 PM - 03:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out site-specific procedures and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Monitor access points and campus activity, communicate observations to appropriate personnel, and document security-related incidents accurately.
• Assist with directions, escorts, and other campus support needs while maintaining a professional presence in an educational environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
