Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer in Norfolk, VA to provide unarmed patrol presence, deter incidents, and deliver excellent customer service at an aerospace/defense site.

You will follow site policies, perform routine patrols and access control, document observations, and respond to incidents with professionalism and clear communication. Training and supportive team culture are emphasized.

Qualifications

• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and security-related concerns.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders, and complete required reports.
• Support a professional environment by communicating clearly with personnel and visitors while following applicable Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.
