Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer in Norfolk, VA to perform unarmed patrols, deter incidents, and deliver courteous customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace/defense site. • Verify credentials and monitor access to restricted areas; maintain visitor and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents calmly, notify appropriate site contacts or responders, and complete required reports.
• Communicate clearly to maintain a professional environment and adhere to site-specific requirements.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting an aerospace and defense location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security‑related incidents, and report observations. You will provide outstanding customer service and clear communication while contributing to a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative team that works with integrity.

Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $19.95 / Hour Job Schedule:

• Wed: 05:30 AM - 01:30 PM
• Thur: 01:30 PM - 09:30 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders, and complete required reports.
• Support a professional environment by communicating clearly with personnel and visitors while following applicable Allied Universal and site‑specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
