Qualifications

• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check will be conducted as per applicable laws.
• Qualified applicants with criminal histories will be considered as allowed by law.
• Drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and staff at ferry terminals and waterfront facilities while following security procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of terminal areas, piers, waiting areas, entrances, and perimeters.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Respond calmly to incidents and notify appropriate personnel and agencies as needed.
• Complete accurate activity logs and incident reports per government facility procedures.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and staff at ferry terminals and waterfront facilities while carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of terminal areas, piers, waiting areas, entrances, and surrounding perimeters to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe passenger and vehicle activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and maintenance concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and public agencies as needed.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in accordance with government facility procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security‑related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
