Allied Universal is hiring a Part-Time Security Officer in San Jose, CA. You will perform unarmed patrols, monitor access, and provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors, with afternoon shifts on Mon–Thu.

This role emphasizes a visible presence, safety, and adherence to campus protocols, contributing to a reliable security program in an educational environment.

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

• Mon: 03:15 PM - 07:30 PM
• Tue: 03:15 PM - 07:30 PM
• Wed: 03:15 PM - 07:30 PM
• Thur: 03:15 PM - 07:30 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, families, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, student-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of school buildings, classrooms, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verifying authorization in accordance with site procedures and reporting unusual conditions to appropriate personnel.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
