Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, seeks a Part-Time Security Officer in Reston, VA. You will provide customer service, enforce access-control procedures, and help deter unauthorized access while maintaining professional communication with clients and staff.

The role offers part-time hours with a fixed schedule (Fri 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM and Sat 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM) and a pay rate of $27.14 per hour.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply per state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while enforcing site access-control procedures.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, maintain accurate access records, and direct authorized individuals.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and follow established emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the construction location, report unusual conditions.
• Deter unauthorized access by monitoring activity and communicating concerns to site contacts.

• Fri 01:00 PM - 05:00 PM
• Sat 01:00 PM - 05:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific access-control procedures and security-related policies.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain accurate access records, and direct authorized individuals to appropriate site locations.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the construction location, including perimeter areas, access points, and temporary facilities, and report unusual conditions.
• Help to deter unauthorized access by maintaining awareness of contractor, vendor, and delivery activity and communicating concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
