Job summary

Allied Universal in Rockford, IL is seeking a Part Time Security Guard to protect our clients and facilities. You will perform routine patrols, monitor access points, and respond calmly to incidents while providing courteous service to employees and visitors.

This role offers flexible day and evening shifts and requires minimum qualifications such as a high school diploma, background check, and ability to obtain any required licenses.

Qualifications

• CPR certification is preferred.
• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, a background investigation will be conducted.
• Allied Universal will conduct a drug screen as required by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors by carrying out site-specific security procedures and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating as per site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of building interiors, exterior areas, parking locations, and perimeter boundaries to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify visitor access, and maintain accurate logs and incident reports.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership regarding observations and needs.

What You'll Do:

• Monitor entry and exit points, verify visitor access in accordance with site requirements, and maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership regarding observations, incidents, and support needs.

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR Certification is preferred.
• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
