Job summary

Allied Universal in Rockford, IL is seeking a dedicated Security Officer for afternoon part-time shifts. You will help safeguard employees, visitors, and premises at a technology location, performing patrols, access control, and incident response with professional customer service.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and may require CPR certification, a Guard Card, background checks, and a drug screen per policy. Training and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• CPR certification is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, parking areas, access points, perimeter areas, and other assigned locations to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to the location, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and report unauthorized access attempts or security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activities according to site procedures.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports, maintain activity logs, and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance concerns to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
