Job summary

Allied Universal in North Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer for an overnight healthcare site. The role involves de-escalation, patient safety, and 24/7 monitoring to deter security incidents.

You will support hospital staff, visitors, and patients with professional service and follow site procedures. The position offers $18.00 per hour and a rotating schedule Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security experience is required.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist hospital staff with de-escalation of situations involving patients; restrain combative individuals as necessary (within company and customer guidelines).
• Transport deceased patients to the morgue, as needed.
• Assist in escorting patients from helicopter pad (high elevation) to the emergency room.
• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of healthcare facilities, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, staff, and vendor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Document observations, incidents, and daily activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Due to the safety sensitive nature of this role, qualified candidates must be able to submit to drug screening to the extent permissible by law. This assignment is in a healthcare facility. As such, a tuberculosis (TB) test and certain vaccinations may be required.

• Tue: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Wed: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
