Part of a nationwide family of Continuing Care Retirement Communities, Covenant Living is seeking a Security Guard. This position is responsible for security of the campus, all campus vehicles, residents and staff. Security responsibilities include patrolling the buildings and grounds and responding to all emergencies on the campus during the security shift.
In This Role, The Security Guard Will
- Respond to emergency call system.
- Evaluate the need to notify on-call personnel when necessary and follow designated procedures supporting them.
- In emergencies, call 911 and coordinate with emergency responders.
- Check and secure all security equipment; complete scheduled patrols of the campus.
- Secure all exterior doors in all buildings.
- Challenge any trespassers on campus property.
- Monitor vehicle traffic and enforce traffic policies.
- Familiarize with campus layout, equipment areas, emergency systems, and follow all procedures.
- Know utility shut-off locations and how to reset systems like HVAC and fire detectors.
- Write and distribute incident reports.
- Report safety hazards and submit maintenance requests via WorxHub.
- Provide emergency maintenance or housekeeping services as directed.
- Assist residents with non-security related services when appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- High school diploma.
- At least two years of security or related experience.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred) and a good driving record.
- First aid certification and experience in emergency medical situations.
- Ability to read/write in English and communicate effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills, friendly personality, and customer service orientation, especially with elderly residents.
- Ability to follow instructions and observe surroundings carefully.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing conditions.
- For California residents, a valid California Security License is required.
Compensation Pay Range
$14.23 - $16.95
