Position Details:

Title: Security Ambassador

Hours & Compensation: 35 hours per week / $24.00 per hour (actual salary based on experience)

Summary:

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Security Ambassador will collaborate with staff to ensure safety for employees, members, and visitors.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively to ensure safety
• Create a welcoming environment and provide basic information about services
• Secure drop-in and waiting areas
• Monitor premises and parking areas
• Respond to emergencies, contact authorities, and complete incident reports
• Coordinate with service staff on member needs outside the building
• Check and respond to emails daily
• Drive to and patrol other MHALA sites
• Support facilities and accounting departments as needed
• Participate in meetings and daily operations
• Attend ongoing training for professional growth

Position Requirements:

• California Basic Security Guard Card required
• Preferred: at least one year of security experience
• Knowledge of de-escalation techniques
• Experience with individuals experiencing mental and physical health issues
• Ability to work with people with disabilities
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Flexible schedule including evenings/weekends and on-call
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle, insurance, and ability to be insured by MHA liability insurance
• TB clearance and annual re-testing
