Overview

Responsible for participating in the planning, organizing, and implementing the company’s Safety Program at construction projects while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and corporate environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Location & Travel Details:

You’ll have the opportunity to travel across the US, supporting our team in building renewable projects. This is a traveling position, up to 100% of the time, with placements in various states. You will spend approximately 8-12 months per project, with designated daily per diem and a company vehicle with fuel card provided. Routine travel home (rotation) is supported.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage all aspects of the safety program on complex construction projects.
2. Conduct workplace safety checks and initiate Stop Work Authority when necessary.
3. Guide onsite staff on corrective actions to eliminate hazards and reduce risks.
4. Create enthusiasm and participation in safety practices among management and workers.
5. Participate in safety committees and monitor safety performance.
6. Lead safety meetings, review incident reports, and maintain safety documentation.
7. Monitor safety reports, maintain bulletin boards, and track safety indicators.
8. Maintain first aid and emergency supplies, and administer drug and alcohol testing.
9. Spend approximately 60% of time in the field on job sites.
10. Identify hazards, document actions, and implement safety and environmental policies.
11. Coordinate safety training and emergency responses.
12. Collaborate with management to develop and maintain site-specific safety plans.
13. Ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
14. Participate in hazard communication programs and safety training topics.
15. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Safety Manager I: 2-3 years of construction safety experience with leadership skills.

Safety Manager II: Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred; BCSP certification preferred; 3-5 years of safety management experience.

Safety Manager III: Similar education requirements; BCSP certification within six months; at least 5 years of safety management experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Commitment to safety and company’s Zero Injury principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and report writing skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA/MSHA regulations and hazard recognition.
• CPR/First Aid certification and training experience.
• Ability to pursue professional certifications within six months.
