Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Guard Access Point Monitoring in Lansing, MI. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor activity, and provide courteous customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.

This full-time role includes nights with a fixed schedule (Mon–Fri, 10:00 PM–6:00 AM). The position requires 18+ (21+ for armed) and a high school diploma, with background checks and drug screening per policy.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted.
• Drug screen required as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply per state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain visitor records, and control access to restricted areas.
• Respond to access-control incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help identify unauthorized access and security-related concerns.
• Assist with maintaining an orderly environment by providing directions, supporting visitor management processes, and reporting maintenance or security-related issues to site contacts.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
