Allied Universal® in Lansing, MI is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Armed Checkpoint to protect clients across healthcare and other settings. The role offers a flexible daytime and evening schedule and opportunities to advance via our Claim a Shift platform.

As an Access Control Officer, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, patrol routinely, and deliver courteous service while maintaining a visible security presence.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
• Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, patients, and staff by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access control policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control access to healthcare-related facilities by verifying credentials, screening visitors, issuing temporary access badges, and maintaining visitor logs.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, restricted areas, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Document daily activities, access-related incidents, and unusual observations accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.

Job Schedule: DayTime Thur 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM Sat 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
