Job summary

Meta is seeking a Security Engineer Lead to scope, design, and champion security solutions company-wide across multiple domains, including IAM, cryptography, product identity, AI security, and cloud security. The role spans a broad tech stack and requires translating regulatory frameworks into actionable security strategies.

You will own a defensible view of top risks, work across Security Engineering and Software Engineering, and influence decisions at VP/CTO/CISO levels.

Qualifications

• Minimum BS/CS or related field.
• Deep technical expertise in at least one domain and ability to credibly engage unfamiliar ones.
• Significant experience driving large cross-company engineering initiatives.
• Experience managing security risk and balancing security vs friction in a large org.
• Experience communicating and influencing across functions to drive solutions.
• Ability to operate in high-ambiguity environments and balance design with business requirements.
• Hands-on engineering leader across Security and Software Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for security solutions and platforms across the company.
• Lead development of threat models and solutions for high-risk domains.
• Define AI agent identification, authorization, and auditing across Meta infrastructure.
• Balance security with friction and cost to keep the company moving securely.
• Drive solution design, architecture, and lead implementation when needed.
• Build partnerships to translate business and regulatory requirements into tradeoffs between security and velocity.
• Present credible tradeoffs to senior leadership (CTO, CISO) to drive decisions.
