Job summary

Jobtailor in Maryland seeks a Senior Systems Administrator to manage Linux and Windows servers, enforce security hardening, and coordinate patching and vulnerability remediation. The role includes administering a web-based information platform, configuring AD, and supporting distributed environments with occasional travel.

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience with DISA/high-assurance environments, TS/SCI clearance, and strong scripting skills in Python and SALT.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience supporting large groups of end users and technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Install applications and administer systems and processes.
• Identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Optimize server and desktop configurations for reliable operations.
• Perform security management and application performance optimization.
• Administer and sustain a web-based application for storing, sharing, and distributing information.
• Create and maintain complex server enclaves.
• Analyze system scanning reports, patching and certificate renewals, conduct vulnerability assessments, and configure Active Directory.
• Identify and correct hardware and software issues.
• Respond to system administration, operations, and maintenance problems and develop re-work solutions.
• Document complex server/network environments for incident resolution.
• Communicate with users and external support personnel regarding outages and upgrades.
• Confer with upper management on recommended resolution options.
• Support distributed and air-gapped systems, deployments, patching, hardening, backup and recovery, upgrades, and accreditation activities.
• Collaborate with technical teams and users.
• Travel locally and periodically CONUS and OCONUS
