Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator in Maryland to install, administer, and optimize Windows-based systems in a mission-critical environment. You will manage Active Directory, security controls, and virtualization across a distributed network while coordinating with stakeholders. The role requires a TS/SCI clearance, U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field with 8+ years of relevant experience
• Experience as a systems administrator providing direct support to end users and technical staff
• Proficiency with Windows Server 2019 and Active Directory
• Experience with deployment, patches, OS, and backup/restore
• Experience with SALT, Ansible, Splunk, Puppet, SolarWinds, and Nessus
• Experience with Red Hat and VMware
• Understanding of advanced security protocols and standards
• Experience with client and server virtualization environments
• Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and reimaging hardware
• Knowledge of information security principles and practices
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel occasionally
• US Citizenship and TS/SCI clearance
• Preferred: SQL Server, Python scripting, CM/Dev environments, Agile, PKI with HSMs and NTP
• Knowledge of PowerShell and PowerCLI
• Experience documenting security accreditation and certification

Responsibilities

• Install applications and administer systems and processes
• Identify and resolve issues in a timely manner
• Optimize server and desktop configurations for continuous operation
• Perform security management and performance optimization
• Administer and sustain a web-based information system
• Create and maintain complex server enclaves
• Analyze system scans, patch systems, renew certs, manage vulnerabilities, configure Active Directory
• Identify and correct hardware and software issues
• Respond to admin/ops problems and develop re-work solutions
• Create and maintain documentation of complex server/network environments
• Communicate outages and upgrades with users and support staff
• Advise upper management on resolution options
• Support day-to-day operations and long-term system improvements in a distributed network
