Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, or related field.
• 8–10+ years of hands-on Linux sysadmin experience across enterprise environments.
• Deep proficiency in Linux (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
• Expertise in Bash, Python, or Perl scripting.
• Experience with Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Familiarity with VMware, KVM, Hyper-V virtualization.
• Familiarity with AWS or Azure cloud.
• Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NFS, firewalls.
• US Citizenship required; DOE Q or TS clearance required.
• Preferred: RHCE, LPIC-2/LPIC-3 or equivalent.
• Preferred: Docker or Kubernetes experience.
• Preferred: DISA STIGs, NIST, CIS benchmarks.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, manage, and maintain Linux systems, servers, virtualization platforms, and cloud computing environments
• Monitor system performance and conduct capacity analysis
• Address performance bottlenecks to ensure efficiency and availability
• Implement security measures and conduct audits
• Ensure compliance with organizational and federal security requirements
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues to minimize downtime
• Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools
• Perform software updates, patches, and upgrades while testing functionality and compatibility
• Create and update system documentation covering configurations, processes, and procedures
• Partner with application teams and IT stakeholders on system integration, patch workflows, and maintenance
• Drive infrastructure scalability, innovation, and operational efficiency
• Support critical IT operations for federal government projects
