Job summary

UltraViolet Cyber is seeking a Security Engineer to provide SOC engineering support and guidance to teams and the DHS client, enhancing the cybersecurity posture by verifying and understanding cyber events.

The role covers design, configuration, implementation, and O&M of event collection tier solutions. Automation will be used to manage a large server fleet; active Top Secret clearance and US work eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• At least three years of experience in security-focused IT engineering.
• Three years of experience in the operations, management, monitoring and maintenance of network security devices and technologies, including firewalls, routers, VPN, IDS sensors, proxies, wireless access points, PKI, domain controllers, security information event managers, etc.

Responsibilities

• File and Directory Management using essential tools.
• System Operations: managing running systems and virtual machines.
• Storage Configuration: partitions, logical volumes, and encrypted file systems.
• User and Group Management: creating and managing users/groups.
• Security Management: configuring firewalls, SELinux, and system security.
• Software Management: installing, updating, and maintaining core services.
