Job summary

UltraViolet Cyber seeks a Security Engineer to provide SOC engineering support, improving the client’s cybersecurity posture and the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems. You will handle event collection, normalization, correlation, and use automation to manage a large fleet of servers for a DHS contract.

The role requires at least three years in security-focused IT engineering, a TS clearance, and readiness to work onsite in Herndon, VA 1-2 days per week.

Qualifications

• At least three years of experience in security focused IT engineering.
• At least three years in operations, management, monitoring and maintenance of network security devices and technologies.
• Experience applying security policies, controls and baselines across multiple OSes and network devices.
• Strong understanding of Linux-based systems and O&M for RHEL servers.
• Experience with Linux Admin, Ansible, Splunk Admin, VMware, IDS/IPS hardware support, and log collection.

Responsibilities

• File and Directory Management using essential tools.
• System Operations: managing running systems and services.
• Storage Configuration: partitions, logical volumes, file systems, encryption.
• User and Group Management: creating and managing users/groups and access control.
• Security Management: configuring firewalls, SELinux, system security.
• Software Management: installing and maintaining packages and core services.
