Job summary
Chainguard, Inc. is seeking a Sr Security Engineer to design and secure our multi-cloud environment. You will work with the Developer Platform and IAM teams to ensure resilient, well-architected cloud infra across GCP, AWS, and Azure.
The role emphasizes security-by-design in a fast-moving startup setting and requires hands-on cloud security expertise. You will implement automation and guardrails using Terraform/IaC and Kubernetes, secure AI/ML pipelines, and help drive the security strategy as
Qualifications
- Proven hands-on experience securing and architecting multi-cloud environments.
- Strong expertise in GCP; AWS and/or Azure experience is a plus.
- Solid DevOps background with Terraform/IaC and Kubernetes (GKE).
- Familiarity with software supply chain security concepts (SLSA) is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain secure cloud environments
- Embed security into architecture and tooling with Developer Platform team
- Design identity and access strategies across clouds with IAM teams
- Harden cloud platforms against evolving threats while ensuring resilience
- Build automation, pipelines, and guardrails using Terraform/IaC and Kubernetes
- Secure AI-driven pipelines and agentic workflows in software supply chain
- Translate security requirements into practical, adoptable designs
- Set long-term architectural vision for scalable cloud security
- Adapt architecture as the company scales and priorities shift
